No Comparison

Give Me Love

I cried and cried the day that George Harrison died.
I took my White Album portrait of him and framed it in gold.
I found a frankincense candle and lit it with Myrrh in a bowl.
And at the time Olivia asked for loving thoughts be sent to him,
I carefully played “Give me Love” on my turntable and sang.

Weeping like his gentle guitar, I, too, prayed for peace and love,
In tribute to someone I knew I loved, and like John before,
I knew that I would cry too hard, to sing along much more.

His loving portrait glowed golden in the candle light,
And the air smelled like church on a calm Easter night
As his beautiful song about love and hope echoed in my ears…
So, I sent a message to George Harrison:
Thank you for all those years of joyful music!

“There is no comparison to George Harrison.”
